Guimarães & Braga Day Trip

After meeting at the indicated time on Rua Mouzinho da Silveira, we'll head to the historic city of Braga, a destination loaded with charm that's a must-see on any visit to Portugal.

Once in the city we'll see the interior of the Sé de Braga and the Santuario do Bom Jesus. We'll then go down into to the city, where we'll take a guided tour of the historic centre of Braga. On this tour, we'll see the exterior of such iconic monuments as the Episcopal Palace. We'll also walk through the most picturesque streets of its beautiful old town.

Having enjoyed some free time to pass through the city and perhaps do some shopping, if you choose the option that includes lunch, we'll refuel with a typical Portuguese meal before hitting the road towards Guimarães.  If you have any special dietary requirements or allergies, please indicate them at the time of booking.

In Guimarães, we'll visit the imposing Medieval castle, and explore the delightful historic center, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wherever you are in the city, the fortified towers of the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza can be seen jutting above the skyline. Visiting its exterior, we'll note the influence of 14th-century French palaces on the architecture.

The tour will end back in Porto at around 6 pm at the meeting point.
