We made advanced reservations. Bring printed voucher to the check-in stand beforehand to get your tickets. We got in line & boarded a few minutes beforehand. We got a seat up top with a good view. It was warm on the day we took the cruise, but once the boat started moving there was a nice breeze. Views from the river are great & it's a unique experience to go under many of the bridges. The length of the cruise is just right & you do get multi-lingual narration. Recommended for first-time visit!

If you just want to view Porto and Gaia from the river, this is a fine cruise. At 15€ it is inexpensive and there is a recorded commentary to tell you about the bridges. However if you want to know anything more or ask questions, there is nobody to ask, so it is a very basic experience.

As we explain on the website, this activity is a tour that is given with recording comments in several languages.

The cruise itself was fun and definitely a memorable part of our trip to Porto. It was informative without being too much. The staff were friendly as well. The only thing that annoyed me was having to present a PRINTED ticket. In this day and age, people should be able to present tickets on their phones, especially when they’re on vacation and don’t have access to a printer. It would be better for the environment and more convenient to present a digital ticket.

The cruise was interesting and the was an explanation over the loudspeaker for what we were seeing. I had an issue with the lady at the Thomas do Douro counter when I went to print my ticket. She took phone off of airplane mode without asking me and I was charged for a day of data. She was very rude when I asked her why she had done that. So, beware when you go print your ticket, there’s other companies where you can show it on the phone or buy it there.

Thank you for your comments. We will extend then to the local provider in order to stop this kind of behavior. On the other hand, we are glad to know that you enjoyed the cruise.
