Harry Potter Free Tour
We'll meet at the agreed time at the emblematic São Bento station to begin our magical free tour of Porto, the city that was a source of inspiration for one of the world's most iconic authors: J.K. Rowling!
First of all, we'll admire the famous tile decoration next to the platforms, reminiscent of platform 9 and 3/4! Then, we'll head to Café Majestic, a place the writer visited almost every day to write Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Afterwards, we'll pass by the Palácio Atlântico to admire the murals of Jorge Barradas and find out all about the dragon mythology that appears throughout the Harry Potter saga as we head to our next stop: Praça da Liberdade.
Then we'll make our way to the Palace of Justice to find out all about António de Oliveira Salazar, a Portuguese politician who it is rumoured was the inspiration for the founder of Slytherin House! Our next stop will be the University of Porto, where we'll see seven emblems of Portuguese culture, on which J.K. Rowling is said to have based Lord Voldemort's seven horcruxes!
Lastly, our tour wouldn't be complete without a visit to the iconic Lello bookstore, world-renowned for its Harry Potter likeness. We'll marvel at its magnificent facade as we find out all about its role in the books!
Our tour will end here following two hours of magic.
