Tiles of Porto Free Tour

We'll meet at 4:30 pm at Praça da Batalha, in front of the church of San Ildefonso. Without a doubt, one of the things that makes Porto special is its beautiful and iconic tiles on the facades of houses and churches.

First of all, we'll see the impressive façade of the church of San Ildefonso and the guide will tell us all about the history of this special form of decoration. Why are the colours repeated? What do they represent? You'll become an expert!

The next stop of the free tour will be the São Bento Station, one of the most beautiful places in Oporto. Inside you'll find many murals made with these white and blue tiles that tell the history of Portugal. We'll continue the guided tour by visiting the Atlantic Palace, the Grand Bazaar of Porto, the Bolhão Market, the Chapel of Souls or the Café A Brasileira, all of them perfect places to take pictures of this beautiful decoration.

After a complete free walking tour, we'll finish the tour at 7 pm in front of the Carmo Church, one of the oldest churches in the country.
