In this Portuguese cuisine cooking class, we'll learn about the delicious traditional dishes of Porto food, where professional chefs will show us how they make the recipes. And then, we'll sample these delicacies.
Porto Cooking Class
At 9:30 am, we'll meet at Praça Dom João I, where this culinary experience in Porto will begin. Are you ready to discover new delicious flavors?
First, we'll head to the Bolhão market, where we'll select the ingredients for our class by looking for the freshest products. This market has vegetables, meats, fish and everything we need to prepare the dishes.
Next, we'll head to a restaurant located in Porto's Ribeira. On the way, we'll pass by the São Bento station and the Cathedral, stopping to admire its beautiful architecture.
Once we arrive at the establishment, we'll be welcomed by the cooks who will then put on their aprons and get behind the stove! We'll observe how they prepare traditional Portuguese dishes such as cod pataniscas, meatballs, or traditional 'country' bread. While we learn the recipes, we'll learn about the origin of the different recipes: both a cooking and history class!
Lastly, we'll sit at the table to taste the two-course menu prepared by the chefs, accompanied by drinks (water, red or white wine, or beer) and a dessert. Bon appétit!
After lunch, the activity will end at 3 pm.
